Questions people actually ask

Answers to what models and brands actually ask most. Written to be useful even if you never use us.

Do models have to pay to sign up?

No. PODIANE never charges models a sign-up fee, a course fee or a photo fee. A commission applies only when a booking is actually agreed, and it is paid by the company hiring.

What are usage rights and buyouts in modeling?

The same day of shooting can be worth several times more or less depending on where the images run, for how long, in which territories, and whether you are locked out of competitors. Media, term, territory and exclusivity belong in the contract.

Can a model stop AI from using their face?

On PODIANE everything is refused by default. Digital twins, training data, synthetic images or video and voice synthesis are possible only within what the model has explicitly granted — and a contract cannot exceed that grant.

Can you get modeling work without an agency?

Yes. Brands post castings and models apply directly, with the terms and payment conditions recorded in the platform. Agencies still make sense for international bookings and complex negotiations.

Someone DMed me saying I was scouted — how do I know it is real?

Check three things: whether the company actually exists, whether they ask you for money, and whether they put the terms in writing. If any one of those fails, stop. A real casting states who it is and what the terms are, up front.

How much should a model charge per day?

There is no single number. Price the shoot fee (the day’s work) separately from usage (the right to exploit the images), and usage swings the total by multiples depending on media, term, territory and exclusivity. Agreeing only on “a day rate” leaves you nothing to point at later.

When do models get paid, and what if the brand disappears?

Putting a dated payment deadline in the contract is the only real protection. “Settled after the shoot” is not a date. And decide in advance whether the fee is still owed if the shoot is cancelled.

They want to meet at a hotel, or want body photos before we meet. Is that normal?

No. Castings happen in a studio or office, with someone able to come with you, with clothes on. “Come alone” and “don’t tell anyone” are, by themselves, reasons to decline.
